Animals and Birds by Amy Ruppel.

I have a major illustrator crush on Amy Ruppel. Yesterday, I posted about the Dunny Series 2009 and she’s one of the designer. Her dunny is probably my favorite out of the bunch. She was also the illustrator behind Target’s awesome Holiday Campaign in 2007. Now you’ll go “Aha! I remember that!”

She has these cool painting/illustration of state animals and state birds up for purchase at her website. I think these are so, so cool. I really like the fact that this is mix media. She mentioned on her website that her main medium is computer illustrated drawings printed onto paper that is then layered into beeswax. On these state animal & bird paintings, I think she also did oils on wood along with the paper & wax. So amazing!!!

Can you guess what state animals are these?

What about these lovely state birds?

Those paintings would look so great hanging on someone’s wall. Love it.

Dunny Series 2009.

Have I ever told you that I love to collect toys? The Kidrobot Dunny Series 2009 is on sale! Look at this group of awesomeness. The one by Amy Ruppel and Supakitch are probably my favorite. As always Devilrobots and Huckgee’s designs are so awesome, too.

Wedding Wednesday: Phyllis & Dan

I’ve decided to have one wedding featured every Wednesday that I’d call “Wedding Wednesday“. So this would be the first Wedding Wednesday! :)

This wedding has such a simple but charming details, which I absolutely adore. Sarah K. Chen captures the most ethereal and beautiful images for a wedding and she did such an excellent job on this wedding! I love the chalkboard theme, the adorable cake topper, the letterpressed program, the cake buffet, the ring shot, the red umbrella shot… So much things to love here!

09.09.09 = $9 at Threadless

For me, inspirations can come from everywhere. One of the websites I visit when I need for inspiration is Threadless. Threadless is an online design community where users can browse at t-shirt designs, score them, offer comments and critiques, and of course purchase their favorite shirt designs. Designers can submit their shirt designs to their ongoing call-for-entries and if they win, their shirts will be printed and they’ll get paid.

Today is 9/9/09 and all Threadless shirts are $9 plus shipping (starting $4.95)! If only I have more shopping budget! I spent it all on the Labor Day Weekend at San Marcos Outlet. Here are some of their designs that inspire me.

Let’s Fall in Love.

The Fall season is almost here. Or, is it here already? The wedding inspiration board below was originally inspired by the tree pattern on Little Pretty Studio’s Hoop-Dee-Doo Bulletin Board. I think it’s a great idea to have several bulletin boards like that as a place card display on a wedding, particularly this one. I think it’s vintage and quirky. After the wedding, they can be used as bulletin boards at home!

I would also imagine that this kind of wedding would be happening under a big oak tree in Fall season’s perfect weather. I imagine it would be so appropriate for the invitation and stationery to be made from wood sheet.

It’s a great season to fall in love! :)

By the way, after all these times looking at pretty wedding eyecandies all across blogs, believe it or not, this is my first attempt at creating an inspiration board :) It’s an awesome experience, thanks to Style Circle! Now I’m addicted :)

Piggy Nose.

This mug design by Hakuhodo is so amusing. I know a close friend who collect all things pig-related that would totally love this. This really made me smile :) Perfect start to a good day!

There’s No Place Like Here.

I bet everyone is jealous by the working space slash home of Stephen and Shauna, the creator behind Something’s Hiding In Here. They are probably famous with their mustache creations that has oddly became a quirky trend in a lot of wedding photographs, although of course they are so amazingly talented making lots of other things. Their studio space (which is also where they live) is so inspiring. I would admit that what made me almost jumped off my chair was the peg board and how organize everything was in the studio. Ribbon holder, color markers in cups, highly organized thread spools, inspiration boards. Everything looks like what I have in my dream.

There is also an interview with a broader view of the space. Everything is just truly one of a kind. There’s no place like that, indeed.

Modern Rustic Housewares.

I’m so loving these housewares over at Shoestring Home. There is something rustic about them, but they have such a modern look and feel too. Everything is so beautiful, elegant, well designed and well crafted! I must say that I can see those Petite Shell Mirrors in my *future* house. Kind of reminds me of these plates on the wall that I posted a few weeks ago. The husband and I are a huge beach lover and I’m thinking of incorporating a lot of shells and beach colors for our yet-to-be house.

Somehow those lovely things remind me that Fall season is almost here. In Texas, we’ll still be under the hot summer sun probably until the end of September.

Anyways, on another note, Shoestring Home is having a giveaway for a chance to win a cute Boogaloo from Blabla. Me wants!

Fascinating fascinators.

My super talented and crafty friend, Dian, has just opened an etsy shop for her fascinator collection. If you are someone who dares to be unique and different but also look girly and glam at the same time, you will definitely like these fascinators.

Look at the white-pink Peony. It would look so lovely as a bridal hair accessories!

It’s a one big Polkaville Party.

Letterpressed paper goodies. How do I love thee? I’ve been admiring Studio On Fire for a while and look at what they have on their Designer Series Deskline. This is called the Polkaville Party (what an appropriate name!) and designed in conjunction with two designers, Kelly & Kindra. So, so inspiring.

How charmingly sweet is that envelope! I’m loving the randomness of the design and the happy colors. And they are all letterpressed, yo! Those stationery are all available to purchase at their website.

So, I’ve been wanting to learn letterpress for quite a while and thanks to my college friend, Jeanelle, I found out that there is actually a letterpress class in Dallas, over at Inky Lips Press. I’m so excited!
