Where should I start? This wedding has those charming little details that you can’t just narrow down. It’s SO HARD to pick the images that Jessamyn Harris posted at her blog. Melissa and Brett had their vintage rustic wedding at the charming Healdsburlg Country Garden, Nothern California. Melissa, Brett, and their planner Jess Flood have such an eye for detail that is SO charming and irresistible.
First, look at the groomsmen accessories. The classic butterfly knot ties. The feathery boutonniere. Melissa made the bouts by her very own hands. And then look at the prettyful bride’s bouquet.
And then these little shabby-chic details that make up for a spectacular wedding. The succulents garland. Framed silhouettes. And you may not be able to see it, but the beer bottles have tags with their monogram on it, tied with some kind of twine to the bottle. Writings on black board. Old fashioned photo booth. Mustache stick. I’m so dizzy with inspirations already!
And this is by far my most favorite cake just yet. The bride’s cake resembles Melissa, who loves to garden, being rescued by Brett, who is a volunteer fireman. How adorably cute! This wedding looks so casual and relaxed but festive at the same time.
I’m so smitten by these cushions by Oromono. Their design is so chic, simple, and feminine. Ruffles, fabric flowers… don’t you just love them? I can imagine these for a living room with contemporary style in a loft or even in a house. Oh so pretty!
Well, I certainly don’t need this just yet (at least until I have a kid :)), but this is just so adorable, I wouldn’t resist to keep it for myself :) Look at the letterpressed certificate. The adorable deposit pouch. The logo. Cute! This whole kit is created by the Notion Farm and priced at $16 each.
I don’t know why but I was thinking that I can see this product being sold at a store like Paper Source. I could spend hours and hours in that store all by myself. I just love those keepsake-ish things at Paper Source that you don’t REALLY need it that bad if you REALLY think about it, but they are so nicely designed you just have to get them for yourself! :)
How sweet are these seating collection! They are designed by Sander Van Der Haar and Jaromir Maas for Spell. I can totally see these at a candy or ice cream shoppe.
The sweet candy pillows are designed by Eva Nip. They are made out of wool felt. Sooo adorably cute I want to give them a hug! It even comes in yellow!
I have a long time photographer-crush on Sarah K Chen. It started back then when she was planning her own wedding and have all the beautiful DIY projects she could get her hands on. Everyone who were planning weddings back then knew Mrs. Pootiekins! :)
Nowadays, she is a great wedding photographer and I’ve always been stalking her blog since then. A few days ago, she posted this super cute engagement shot. Fairgrounds. Yellow balloons. Cotton candy. Funnel cake. Toboggan slides. Merry Go Round. Beautiful-beautiful colors. It has all I ever wanted to see in an engagement shoot!
This shot at the Toboggan slide has the most beautiful colors. There are so many ways that inspiration can come to me. This one image inspires me in so many ways. Love it thousand times! What a fun way to do an engagement shot.
I know summer is almost over but I don’t want summer to leave just yet. My knees become weak when I see yellow, orange, citrus green, and chocolate brown in a color palette. This particular wedding that happened right before the summer season began this year, makes me smile mainly because of the happy summer-y colors and the great sense of style that the bride has. I love, love, love her wedding dress and her bouquet. Guess what, she did her own bouquet! She was her own florist on her wedding. Not only unique and exotic looking, the bouquet has great, bright, happy colors that I adore.
The event was coordinated by Red Velvet Occasions. The beautiful photography was done by Mark Brooke. More beautiful detail captured by Mark on this wedding…
As I mentioned in the About page, when I’m not designing, I cook. I love, love, love, bold bright colors when it comes to kitchen gadgets. My dream kitchen’s color palette will have colors like chartreuse green, lemony yellow, and happy orange.
Continuing the previous whimsical theme of today, I am loving these whimsical playful kitchen gadgets of Stefano Giovannoni’s The Orientales collection! I can’t help but drooling over these and hope to adopt them all for my kitchen.
If I show this to my conventional husband, he would probably call this childish and silly. He rolled his eyes when I plead to him to let me registered for a TONS of Animal House kitchen tools from Target for our wedding registry (He did let me! :)). Those tools are so fun and I’m enjoying them a lot in my kitchen! Anyways… back to Stefano Giovannoni. Here are some more cuteness…

On another note, Kelly from Glamour This is hosting a giveaway from Allmodern.com which sells those cute kitchen tools. I really can’t pick which one I’m getting if I win this because Allmodern.com has so many drool-worthy modern household items and my husband & I desperately need want, but if I win, I would most probably get one of those Orientales collection! :)
How lovely are those invitation by Erin Jang! I’m all for whimsical illustrations and this one is just so charming. The couple is getting married at Smog Shoppe, a green exotic urban space with a lot of succulents and hanging gardens, from which Erin was inspired.
I’ve been enjoying those video submissions over at Etsy.tv for the past couple of days. For those of you who don’t know, Etsy is holding a video contest with the theme: “Handmade Moment”. If you are a videographer, home video maker, and an Etsy fan, you should check this out.
This is my favorite video submission so far created by two brilliant illustrators, Andy Musser and Kit Seaton. I just love everything from the style, the storyline, the soundtrack…. It makes me want to draw and make something now. :)
DIY Letterpress? What, what? Is it possible at all? Yes, yes!
I have been DYING to learn how to letterpress. I’ve been trying to find a local class here in Dallas but have not been successful. While I am still so interested in learning about the real deal, I was *so* excited to read this post at the DIY Bride blog about this new baby!!! This DIY Letterpress machine is soon to be released this coming Fall by Lifestyle Craft. The whole kit looks among the same group like Yudu and all those Cricut machines.
So, at $149.99 retail, the whole kit comes with everything you need to start letterpress printing right away:
Epic Six Letterpress and Die-cutting Tool
Letterpress
Clear Packing Mat with Grid
Paper Placement Guides
Ink Base
Brayer
Ten A2 flat cards
Nine Printing Plates
Tube of Black Ink
Circle Cutting Dies
Of course as graphic designer, my first and foremost question would be, “Can we make anything we want with it? Can we make our own “pre-made templates”?” See, I bought a Cuttlebug machine back then and it was just left alone under my living room sofa unopened. I thought I was going to use it for several projects but everytime, I always need something custom, not just taking whatever they have on the premade templates.
To answer my first question, it was said that they are going to have some kind of “custom program”. Now, I AM BEYOND EXCITED. Not sure how customized would this be, but Michelle from Lifestyle Crafts actually mentioned that we can create our own words, phrases, and designs. I’m sure there will be limitation, like the ink colors that we can use, booo… :(. All in all, though, this would still be one cool machine to own. I’ll be looking out for that “custom program” announcement.
Let see… Now, I’m considering to get either this or a new Wacom Tablet. Maybe Wacom for Christmas and this for my birthday, haha *winks at the husband* :)
