it’s been two years.

Last week, our little family turned into 2 years old. I thank God and I feel so blessed and grateful for my amazing husband. He’s perfect for me in every way :) The husband and I decided to just go out to eat. Simple, but it was one of the most enjoyable celebration ever. We went to Daddy Jack’s, a local seafood restaurant with relaxing atmosphere, greatest service, and SUPERB food (and generous portion too!). I just loved it. The husband usually complains a bit whenever we go to a fine-dining restaurant ’cause most of their portion are tiny. He surely did not complain a bit last week.

Sorry, I didn’t even bother making sure to get the food shot perfectly ’cause all I wanted to do at the time was to start eating! And believe me, that dinner did NOT cost us a fortune. We’ll definitely be back!

Then, about a few days after, one of our good friends who has just turned into a photography aficionado offered to take our photos to build his portfolio. What a nice coincidence, so we happily agreed. I was excited because I had some cute ideas in mind to bring out our personality in the images.

So, here we go.

It’s “heartfelt” :)

The banner on the shot below came from a baby shower decoration I did last year. Remember?

Last but not least, my favorite of all, just ’cause this shot is “so us” :)

the red balloon.

This is the kind of Save The Date design that makes you just absolutely want to save the date. Simple and creative. A result of brilliant idea that was excellently designed and very well executed. Definitely one of the best I’ve seen in a long time. The revealed production cost was not ridiculously expensive either. Designed by L’Office Optimiste, via FPO.

I couldn’t be more excited! Remember Jeff and Jessica? We designed their invitation and wedding stationery a while ago. They have just been featured on the Southern Weddings blog! Click here for part one and part two. Their photographs were all taken by Josh McCullock.

a shoe named ivana.

I’ve never known any shoe that has the same name as me, so I was particularly EXCITED when I found this on Zappos.

Plus, I am looking for a pair of shoe in champagne or gold-ish color (*check*) for my bridesmaid duty to my best friend this coming June. Although this one has a medium-width, I’m just not sure if I’ll be comfortable standing all day long in a 4 1/2″ heel. Moreover, not sure if my hubs is gonna be too happy looking at the price tag. But, it’s cute! Really cute rosette tulle on the side! And it has the same name as me! Looks like we’re destined together, no?

Custom Wedding Dress by Leanne Marshall

As I mentioned before in a post, one of my favorite fashion designer (probably, ever) is Leanne Marshall. I rarely describe something like this, but her style is simply just perfection to my taste. This has been posted on her blog since December, but since I was MIA from the computer a lot last month, I just saw this yesterday.

I was gasping in awe when I saw this custom wedding dress she did for a patron. It might just be the most stunning wedding dress I have ever seen. Ever.

Wedding Wednesday: Eric & Sally

Today’s Wedding Wednesday is so breathtakingly lovely. I was just gasping when I saw these images on the blog of one of my most favorite Indonesian photographer, Axioo. I’m sure that most of you will agree with me that the bride’s dress is just so, so unique, extra special and beautiful. Sally, the bride, designed her own dress. No wonder! :)

I’m loving the subtle touch of the color red through the wedding details. Don’t you just love the guestbook table? One unique thing about the wedding venue, according to Axioo’s blog post, “Instead of going for hotel ballroom (which is where most weddings in Jakarta takes place), [they] opted for a more cozy and intimate setting at Rumah Maroko (Morocco House).

Twigs and Honey Bridal Headpieces.

When I was at Style Me Pretty earlier today, I almost jumped off my chair. These work of art are combination of the legendary Elizabeth Messina and the amazing Myra Kim of Twigs and Honey. Perfection! If I could dream up the most perfect bridal headpiece, these would probably be it. I just love, love them.

Above & Beyond: Jessica Claire Wedding Invitation

Everyone in the wedding blogosphere knows that Jessica Claire is soon to be married. Her blog have been flooded with love and admiration towards this invitation, and I really don’t want to post something that you’ve seen a million times previously. However, this invitation is just so inspiring I just have to post it. Just for the sake of it :) This Save The Date & the invitation altogether is so beyond gorgeous and charming, and could easily be one of my most favorite invitations ever. As a result, I have another category to put this in. Above & Beyond category will feature very few design works that I think is my all-time most favorite.

(Taken from Jessica’s blog post)
The (Save The Date) is in four pieces, and each one is handmade out of letterpressed tags or stitched muslin. Each one has an antique key attached to the ribbon–every key is different. As the wedding has locks and keys all throughout, (Jessica & Jeff) wanted to bring that in as early as the save the date.

And then there’s the invitation. The invitation is packaged in HOLLOWED OUT BOOKS!

(Taken from Jessica’s blog post)

In keeping with (the) theme, (the) wedding invitation hides away, tucked safely inside a hollowed out book. Each one is completely different–each book was lovingly bought from an old bookstore and chosen for it’s particular color cover, title, thickness, or inside pattern. A steel grey grosgrain ribbon holds the invitation in and is sealed with a copper wax seal with a photo of a lock. On the invitation itself which lays in the hollow, a single, antique button is affixed to each invitation. Every one is incredibly detailed and different and took many HOURS of scouring eBay.

The whole thing is so amazing that I went speechless. Love, love, love!

Wedding Wednesday: Keri & Jeremiah

This week’s Wedding Wednesday is probably nothing you’ve seen before. I always love weddings that is out of the box and a bride who is not afraid of something edgy and unique. The wedding of Keri & Jeremiah surely could be described that way! This wedding was held in Texas and happened last year’s Fall season, shot by the amazing Agung Fauzi from Seize The Day Photography, who also shot my very own wedding.

I’m so amazed at the couple’s eclectic and unique taste. There is edginess, casualness, stylishness, with a bit of rustic touch.

Here is a bit from Keri:
I did my own flowers, and I put all the fabric together for my dress, but had an amazing seamstress that sewed it all together like that. The actual dress I bought at Bliss Bridal and I think it was “technically” a bridesmaids dress. In the middle it had a big applique of sparkly beads and diamonds (so not me) so I just took that off!

How cool are the bridesmaid’s outfits? Where else would you get to wear jeans as a bridesmaid? And the bouquet is just so, so charming and cool. The flowers are wrapped with a fabric with musical notes pattern, since the couple are a big music fan. In fact, Jeremiah proposed Keri with a song that he composed himself. Oh, and also, the camera seems to LOVE capturing the bride, don’t you think? She looks like a photo model!

I adore the flower girl’s pillow and the outfits.

The super crafty bride, Keri, is now a photographer and also a floral designer. Check out her website, photography blog, and floral design blog to see her works.
